2 minor amusements and 1 birthday

1) This morning we got a phone call from someone named Blanche, on behalf of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. D fielded the call, and as I see it, he missed a golden opportunity. "Blanche, tell me," he could have said; "have you *always* depended on the kindness of strangers?"

2) We spent the weekend in NYC, and over an excellent dinner Saturday night, came up with a series of urban nursery rhymes. Such as:

Mary had a little lamb
little lamb, little lamb
Mary had a little lamb
in a red wine sauce.

or,

Twinkle, twinkle, little plane
How I wonder where you've been
Up above the world so high
Like a taxi in the sky...

etc. (It's possible these are funnier if you've had a few glasses of wine.)

3) Very happiest of birthdays to kassrachel, my favorite babe-and-a-half. You're so cool.
