Having given more thought to yesterday's aerial maneuvers, and inspired by the comments of [livejournal.com profile] bobsquatch and [livejournal.com profile] outsidetheparty, I've come up with a new read on what was happening. The pilots, I imagine, were having the following conversation:

Pilot 1: Whoa, dudes, you've got to check out this lawn. It's like a jungle down there!
Pilot 2: Oh, man, he wasn't kidding! Too funny!
Pilot 3: Heh -- have these people ever heard of a lawnmower?
Pilot 4: I know, right? Wait, but did you see those bushes?
Pilot 2: Which bushes, dude? The whole place is bushes.
Pilot 4: Up by the house.
Pilot 5: Roger, I'm approaching now. Which side of the house?
Pilot 4: In the corner.
Pilot 5: Roger that, bushes in the corner. Why, they're beautiful!
Pilot 4: What are they?
Pilot 5: No idea. Very lush, though.
Pilot 6: I'll get in lower... Those are hydrangeas, soldier.
Pilot 4: Are they? Can hydrangeas get that big?
Pilot 7: Let me see... Yes, sir. Those are hydrangeas, sir.
Pilot 8: Coming in now... Good god, I've never seen such lush hydrangeas!

And so forth.
