Damn, I think this mountain really IS covered with wolves...

Can someone who knows something about New England wildlife tell me whether it's possible, when I glanced out my window just now and saw what appeared to be a good-sized German Shepherd-shaped animal trotting through the woods, that it was a wolf? And not, say, some neighbor's lost German Shepherd? Because it seemed awfully at home in the woods, and it was definitely something in the dog family, and bigger than Frank (who, happily, was indoors at the time)...
